About
Us

Our Mission

We exist to enrich the lives of rescue pitbulls as well as veterans and first responders. We feel a duty to provide a safe and healthy environment for our rescue dogs. Through teamwork and stewardship we pair a well-trained service dog with a veteran or first responder in hope of reducing mental illness and suicide caused by PTSD or TBIs.

Our Goal

Valor Pit Bull Rescue and Service dogs rescues what society considers to be the most unlovable, un-adoptable pitbull breeds from shelters, provides them with the opportunity to be loved, offers them intensive obedience training and pairs them with veterans in need of a loving companion or support animal.

We began our mission in 2019 in Colorado and we have expanded to South Dakota.

Daniel Walton

Daniel is an Army veteran who served as an infantryman in the 101st Airborne. After 911 he deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. Upon leaving the military, Daniel served with the Denver Police Department for 10 years. While with DPD, he was in a car accident where he suffered a traumatic brain injury and several broken bones. In 2009, Daniel rescued his first pitbull and immediately fell in love with the breed. Daniel believes that pit bulls and veterans/first responders make the perfect pair due to the loyalty and goodhearted nature of both. Pictured: Daniel with “Roc”
